While Rohit did not travel with the rest of the team to Perth due to personal reasons, Shami failed to recover in time when the squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was announced.

As per the report, both Rohit Sharma and Shami are expected to leave together for the series against Australia. The Hitman was blessed with a baby boy on Friday, increasing hopes of his participation in IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth. Meanwhile, Shami made his return to competitive cricket for the first time in a year and impressed with a 4-wicket haul in Ranji Trophy. As per the report, Rohit can join the side before the Perth Test.
