India will leave Brisbane with heads held high as the Gabba Test concluded in a rain-marred draw, leaving the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 series level at 1-1. Despite Australia’s dominance early on, India avoided defeat at one of cricket’s most challenging venues. With two Tests remaining, the visitors’ chances for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final remain intact.

On Day 5, rain was the decisive factor. With a target of 275 set in 54 overs, India faced 2.1 overs before bad light and persistent showers forced play to halt. Earlier, dark clouds and intermittent rain repeatedly interrupted play, dampening any prospects of a thrilling finish.
