Ο Μοχάμεντ Σάμι έπαιξε τελευταία φορά για την ινδική ομάδα κρίκετ στον τελικό του Παγκοσμίου Κυπέλλου ODI εναντίον της Αυστραλίας.
Mohammed Shami has been preparing well to join the India Cricket Team. After playing his Ranji Trophy match he was supposed to fly to Australia to be a part of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. But, since then he has played 6 T20 matches in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy within a span of 11 days.
Out of his stipulated 24 overs, Mohammed Shami bowled 23.3 overs showcasing that he is now ready to re-join Team India. Shami’s last outing for the national team came in the ODI World Cup finals against Australia. Following this, he has been out of action after undergoing an ankle injury.
Is Mohammed Shami 100% fit?
Shami was initially supposed to be a part of the BGT but the BCCI Medical team decided to think otherwise. The ace pacer has been under constant observation by the team. Shami was also instructed to lose weight and attain 100% fitness before joining the India Cricket Team.
After his Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh, Shami has been playing for Bengal in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and has been performing well. He no longer now needs the constant vigilance of the BCCI Medical Team. Bengal’s next game is against Rajasthan and if Shami is selected, he will be playing his 7th T20 game in 13 days.
This means that now Shami is 100% fit to play International fixtures. All being said and done, Shami won’t be a part of the IND vs AUS Pink Ball Test in Adelaide. But if the BCCI think tank decides to incorporate the 34-year-old pacer, he can hop into the next flight and reach Down Under and prepare himself for the third Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
