Δημοπρασία IPL: Σε 39 αγώνες για το MI, ο Rahul Chahar συγκέντρωσε 41 wickets με οικονομία 7,40.
If one has to pick a team that looks the most sorted after IPL Retention, it has to be MI. The team spent a massive INR 75 Cr to keep their star performers with them, without any compromise. That also means, no matter what player they get, or don’t get at the IPL Auction in November, their performances won’t take a hit.
Rahul Chahar on MI Radar for IPL Auction?
But then, coming to the point of who they should get — for now they have no spinners in their side. And without much ado, they should target either Rahul Chahar or Yuzvendra Chahal. Both the leg-spinners were released by their respective teams, PBKS and RR. As a matter of fact, both have played for MI in the past.
Both are wicket-takers and have managed to perform exceptionally well for their teams. Overall, Rahul Chahar has played 78 matches, and picked up 75 wickets, at an economy of 7.72. This year, he scalped 10 wickets in nine matches, and had decent returns.
Even if they can get their hands on Chahal, it would be great for the team. He was one of the best bowlers this year in IPL, and had 18 wickets from 15 matches. His career economy rate in IPL is only 7.84, and can be a great value addition to MI. But one of the problems in getting Chahal could be, the price.

While Chahar might not come expensive for MI, who only have a purse of 45 Cr, but they might have to spend a substantial amount for Yuzvendra Chahal. Not just that, either of these two spinners could prove a handful, if MI also manage to get in left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya. And all these players would not even have a problem gelling with the rest of the players, as all have spent time in MI.
MI Retention List
- Jasprit Bumrah
- Suryakumar Yadav
- Hardik Pandya
- Tilak Varma
- Rohit Sharma
