Ο Arshad Nadeem θα εκπροσωπήσει το Πακιστάν στον ακοντισμό στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του 2024 στο Παρίσι.
Probably Pakistan’s only hope for a medal at the Paris Olympics, Arshad Nadeem is facing significant challenges before the main event. The Pakistani ace javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, has been unable to practice his throws at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore due to a lack of suitable facilities on the ground.
Because of summer camps at the same location, Nadeem can’t practice properly as many players are already using the field. “Pakistan does not have proper athletics grounds. If a proper ground is made for us, then it will be a big relief for athletes in Pakistan,” Nadeem told Pakistan’s Geo Super.
Weather in Lahore raises concerns
Not just the lack of proper training facilities, but weather conditions in Pakistan are also making it difficult for Nadeem. His coach, Salman Butt, spoke to the regional media on this issue. “He (Arshad) is in good shape, and we will try to make him much better. We have worked hard, but the weather has affected our training. We don’t have indoor air-conditioned facilities. It’s very difficult conditions to train in,” Butt told Pakistani media in a detailed chat.
“As you go near the competition, you reduce the load, which makes the movement faster and reduces repetition. What we need is speed,” he added.
Challenges in Olympics
Arshad Nadeem will be facing India’s Neeraj Chopra at the Paris Olympics. After a disappointing performance in the recent Monaco Doha League, Arshad will focus on securing a podium finish at the Olympics.
