India last played in the finals in the 1980 Moscow Olympics, and since then, there has been no presence of the Indian hockey team in finals. However, they failed to capitalize on their chances. Soon after the game finished, the internet reactions ranged from crying to supporting the Indian team for their impeccable run and giving a boost for the bronze medal game.
