India Cricket Team‘s ace pacer Mohammed Shami is gearing up for a strong comeback. After the ODI World Cup 2023, Shami hasn’t featured in a single game. He underwent a knee injury and now is on the verge of completing his rehabilitation. As per reports, Shami is keen to make a comeback, this time for Bengal in Ranji Trophy.
Reports claim that Mohammed Shami is likely to feature in Bengal’s opening game against Uttar Pradesh in 11th October. It remains to be seen if he will also be available against Bihar on 18th October. Shami remains doubtful for the India vs Bangladesh Test series. And with both the Ranji matches happing within a span of 2 days, it is highly likely that the ace pacer will feature in both the games.

Shami playing in the domestic matches will also have his way and fast-track his chances of making a comeback in international cricket. Shami is expected to be a part of the India squad that will play against New Zealand.
Rohit Sharma and Co will take on the Black Caps from 19th October with two other Test matches taking place on 24th October and 1st November. If Shami needs to play on the first IND vs NZ Test match, then it is imperative that he plays for Bengal in their first Ranji Trophy game.
With Shami not being 100% fit now, his participation in the Duleep Trophy is highly unlikely. This also means that Shami is unlikely to make the cut for the upcoming IND vs BAN Test series.
